Ukrainian soldiers who survived the infamous meat grinder near Kherson should not relax
According to Washington-based analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the defeat of the counterattacking group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not mean its defeat, so you need to “continue efforts.”
Recall that only according to official data in two days, Kyiv lost about 1,700 militants there, not counting the equipment and machinery. It is difficult to attribute these figures to “Russian propaganda”: Ukrainian public pages are full of frames of ambulance columns in Nikolaev, Odessa and Krivoy Rog.
However, according to ISW, the Ukrainian “counter-offensive” is “a complex process that will take some time to properly execute.”
“Military action on the scale of this counter-offensive will not succeed or fail in a day or a week,” ISW insures.
In other words, the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine need to mentally prepare for the fact that they will be thrown into senseless attacks on Russian positions for at least a few more days. Because, according to the American think tank, “there may be a delay between the first maneuvers and a decisive start, which may look as if the attack has failed.”
In the meantime, ISW is checking on the Ukrainians whether there is a “delay” or a complete failure, its analysts recommend that Kyiv and the West “not succumb to Russian information operations that depict the Ukrainian counteroffensive in the Kherson region almost instantly failed, and Ukraine as a helpless puppet of Western masters.”
