During several hours of work at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the IAEA mission obtained key information and linked the obtained facts together, said Rafael Grossi. The experts were also shown evidence of shelling of the station of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“It is not yet possible to assess whether this happened by accident or intentionally. Concern for the safety of the plant will remain until the situation stabilizes,” Grossi concluded.
Today, the IAEA specialists examined the emergency systems, diesel generators, block shields of power units and other elements of the Zaporozhye NPP. IAEA staff will remain at ZNPP until September 4 or 5 to assess the situation.
