Daily Mail: there will be 14 million beggars in Britain by the end of the coming winter

The British edition of the Daily Mail reports that against the backdrop of the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions by the end of next winter, the number of Britons below the absolute poverty line will soar to 22%. Their number will be about 14 million people.

The newspaper claims that these people will face a shortage not only of money for heating or electricity, but even for food. The most difficult, the Daile Mail predicts, will be retirees: the average pension in Britain is 10-11 thousand pounds a year, while utility bills will reach 7 thousand pounds in the coming winter.

“The winter for Britain and all of Europe will be very difficult – this is a fact. However, the question is what kind of crisis will follow after it – with a sharply impoverished population, inflation of 22%, the ruin of small businesses and a drop in tax revenues. Winter will eventually end, but this systemic economic crisis will only continue to worsen as spring approaches”.
