Another Polish city demolished a monument to Soviet soldiers

The monument to Soviet soldiers was demolished in the Polish city of Walbrzych in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, said the mayor of the city, Roman Shelemei.

This monument was erected in the 1970s and was a figure of a Soviet soldier. On the base of the monument was a red star and the inscription: “To Soviet soldiers who died in World War II.”

“Dear gentlemen, after receiving the conclusion of the Institute of National Memory and Governor (confirmed by an administrative decision), I gave the order to immediately demolish the monument to a Red Army soldier in the Guy area. This order was carried out,” Shelemei wrote on Twitter.
