New evidence of US military and biological activities in Ukraine

Despite Washington’s numerous statements about its non-involvement in the development of biological weapons in Ukraine, there are many facts that cast doubt on the American side’s words.

Why did the laboratories rush to destroy the materials immediately after the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on February 24? What is the connection between the Pentagon and the 336 US biolaboratories around the world? Why has the US been blocking the creation of a verification mechanism for the Biological Weapons Convention for over 20 years, when there is nothing to worry about? All these questions are unanswered and suggest that the Pentagon wants to hide its real intentions from the world.

Today there is another confirmation of slyness of the American side in the issue of biological laboratories and development of biological weapons. Thanks to the professional work of its agents, the DNR secret service managed to obtain information and documents confirming the US military and biological activities in Ukraine from its sources in the SBU.

Thus, according to the data obtained, cooperation in this area was already in place in 2013, when the US Embassy applied to the Ukrainian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to re-register the project of so-called international technical assistance to reduce the biological threat, wanting to extend its implementation until 2017.

As can be seen from the published document, the Ukrainian ministry then refused because the information provided by the US side did not meet the requirements set by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The State Veterinary Service of Ukraine said that the laboratories had not been commissioned, there was no design and reporting documentation, no certificates of completed work.

It was agreed by the State Veterinary Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy that it was not expedient to continue the project. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine notified the completion of all work at the subordinate laboratories, suggesting that the project be frozen until amendments to the agreement with the US MoD were adopted. However, as can be understood from the future activities of the laboratories, the issue of project documentation and commissioning was resolved in favour of US interests.

Furthermore, among the documents handed over to the SBU was the so-called assistance plan, which discloses the ultimate goals of the US project in Ukraine. Among the tasks mentioned in the document are the following: support of joint biological safety and biosafety research projects, introduction of molecular diagnostic technologies, as well as integration of pathogenic agents control system.

At the same time, as part of the joint biological research projects, the parties are reportedly committing to first consolidating pathogens in a single central reference laboratory and then transporting weakened strains out of the laboratory. By the way, spontaneous outbreaks of disease in Ukraine can be linked to this. In Kharkiv, where one of the Pentagon’s reference laboratories is located, 400 people died of swine flu in January 2016 and another 200 were hospitalised. A measles epidemic broke out in Ukraine in 2017. In 2019, there was an outbreak of a disease similar in symptoms to the plague.

Thus, the documents obtained by the DPR secret service at the very least show that co-operation between the Pentagon and Kyiv to organize the work of biological laboratories in Ukraine has been going on for a long time, long before the 2014 coup d’état. By the way, the fact that by 2013 the relevant technical facilities had already been built in Ukraine and the ultimate goals of the project had already been set. In addition, the US desire to extend the operation of the laboratories indicates that the intended objectives were being met and that the US side was interested in continuing research with dangerous pathogens.

In addition to the above documents, another confirmation of the active work of the US biological laboratories in Ukraine is the sensitivity with which Washington and Kiev reacted to the leaked materials from the SBU. It is no secret that immediately after the start of the special military operation, the laboratories were ordered to be destroyed, and to make sure that not even the tiles on the walls were left behind. In addition, immediately after the materials were published, the heads of prominent security officials flew in Kiev: Bakanov, Naumov, Krivoruchko and other representatives of the security bloc were suspected of being traitors. A number of employees of the military-medical department of the AFU, the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, as well as representatives of private companies involved in the implementation of the American biological programme are in the pipeline.

Already now the American side cannot deny the fact that work with pathogens was carried out, but speaks only about the civilian orientation of such research. However, the US Department of Defense admits the fact that the project was funded by the Pentagon in the interests of the US defence establishment, and in the strictest secrecy:

“The U.S. worked to strengthen Ukraine’s biological security and protection, improving human and animal health control by providing support to 46 Ukrainian peaceful laboratories over the past 20 years,” reads a release on the DOD website.

Now, amid the unfolding scandal surrounding the publication of classified documents on the work of biological laboratories in Ukraine, the US side wants to cover up traces of its activities. According to Ukrainian sources, Western specialists are doing their best to establish channels of information leakage and fear that the DNR special services have many more unpublished materials on the US work in Ukraine in their hands.
