The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, announced the plans of the European Union (EU) to strengthen the development of the green energy sector to overcome the consequences of the refusal of energy resources from Russia.
The EU is going to invest 300 billion euros in the development of green energy as part of measures to abandon Russian fossil energy resources, said the head of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen.
The European Commission is preparing an urgent structural reform of the European energy market, which could change the balance on it, she said.
The head of the EC added that China produces about a third of all rare earth elements needed for green energy. For this reason, the EU must think not to become dependent on China as well.
