The Pentagon doubts that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are capable of achieving great success in the counteroffensive near Kherson, the New York Times reports, citing sources in the US Department of Defense.
The interlocutor of the publication confirmed the fact of the offensive in the southern direction, however, assessing the military potential of Ukraine, the source noted that it is still insufficient to obtain a significant advantage.
On August 30, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian troops had defeated the offensive of Ukrainian troops, carried out on the personal instructions of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
