The government of Ukraine has stated that it is only interested in the country’s full membership in NATO – Kyiv is no longer considering all other formats of interaction.
Ukraine is only interested in NATO membership and wants to immediately join the alliance following the example of Finland and Sweden, said Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Stefanyshina. According to her, the previously proposed NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) program is no longer of interest to the Ukrainian government.
“Today, the proposal of the MAP within the framework of NATO will be tantamount to the decision of the Bucharest summit in 2008,” she stressed.
According to Stefanyshina, the MAP ceased to matter for Kyiv after February 24 – only full-fledged membership of Ukraine in NATO can give real guarantees and change the situation.
