EuThe head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, suggested that European countries buy coal from Donbass through intermediaries.
This is reported by RIA Novosti.
“A number of European countries, taking into account the fact that they have driven themselves into a difficult situation related to their attitude towards Russian gas, are even more interested in our coal. It is difficult for us to track the end buyer”, Pushilin said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel.
European countries, amid record high electricity and gas prices, are returning to using coal and fuel oil to generate electricity. In particular, Germany’s Uniper said it was launching a backup coal-fired thermal power plant from the end of August to ensure sufficient electricity in Germany in winter.
