The Sun: parents of schoolchildren in Britain fear their children will freeze this winter

A British newspaper reports that schools in Britain want to buy jumpers for pupils because of the colder weather in classrooms

School principals in Britain offer to provide students with jumpers because of the forced fall in the temperature in the classrooms amid rising energy costs, writes the British tabloid TheSun.

The article says that UK schools want to lower the temperature in classrooms amid soaring gas and electricity bills. The paper said school students may be advised to wear warm clothing to class.

“We may be able to lower it (classroom temperature) by a degree or two and ask everyone to wear jumpers, but we have a lot of students from poor socio-economic groups. So we will have to buy and provide jumpers,” Steve Chalka, headmaster of a British school, was quoted as saying.
