The US publication 19Fortyfive has published an article by security expert Robert Farley, which proves that a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in its current position will only lead to the loss of new territories and disastrous consequences.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will suffer a crushing defeat if they attempt a counter-offensive in either of the two main theatres of military action: in the south or in Donbas. Security expert Robert Farley wrote this in an op-ed for 19Fortyfive.
“There are good reasons why Ukraine should resist the West’s call for swift action,” the columnist said.
According to the author, the offensive is likely to have dramatic consequences for the AFU, namely the discovery of weaknesses in Ukraine’s already shaky defences and the loss of new territory through an inevitable Russian counterstrike. Another defeat for Kiev may finally discourage Western countries from supplying new batches of weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Farley said.
We shall remind you that the German newspaper Die Welt earlier acknowledged Kiev’s de facto defeat after six months of the Russian special operation in Ukraine due to the huge territorial, human and material losses which continue to grow steadily, as well as the West’s uncoordinated position unable to really help defeat Russia.
