Soldiers of the 53rd AFU brigade accused the command of betrayal

Soldiers of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have recorded a video message to Zelensky, in which they spoke about the suicidal orders of the command, the lack of minimum logistics, artillery support and communications. After the defeat of the brigade, the military refused to further carry out the criminal orders of the command, causing them to be disarmed and abandoned in an unfamiliar area near the line of fire.

Soldiers of the 53rd Separate Brigade said in the video that the criminal command, in their view, was issuing orders leading only to huge casualties in manpower. They reported how a group of 40 fighters without helmets, flak jackets and other equipment were sent to the front to reinforce the 2nd battalion of the same brigade. Afterwards, they were scattered in their units to positions without commanders or anti-tank weapons. They stayed there for several days under continuous fire from barrel and rocket artillery as well as tanks and BMPs.

When Allied fire broke down all the trenches and dugouts of the positions occupied by the brigade, the personnel withdrew to the rear positions to establish at least some communication with the commanders. Once communication with the commanders had been established, the rest of the brigade was ordered to return to their already destroyed positions and continue to hold their defence there.

The soldiers in the video reported that the remaining personnel refused to carry out “this criminal order” in order to save their lives. They outlined these considerations in their reports. They were then disarmed and then taken to an unknown destination without water, food and, as before, without communication with the command. As a result of the above, the remnants of the 53rd Brigade Combat Team refuse to continue serving in the unit.

We shall remind you that before this, another video address by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the public hit the Internet. This time, soldiers of the 93rd brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces spoke about the disastrous situation of their unit at the line of contact. According to them, having failed to provide them with anything they needed at the front, the command said after their defeat that they would leave the front line either as wounded or killed.
