Poles envy Hungary’s nuclear power development

While the energy collapse is brewing in Poland, the Russians are helping Hungary develop its nuclear energy industry, the Polish edition of Interia Diznes wrote with envy.

The Rosatom company has received approval from the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority for the construction of Units 5 and 6 of the Paks nuclear power plant.

Currently, according to the newspaper, the four Water-water power reactor reactors of the 440 power plant, which started operating in the 1980s, can cumulatively produce about 2,000 megawatts, covering more than 50 per cent of the national demand.

Earlier, the Polish newspaper Interia Biznes reported about possible power outages during the autumn-winter period, which could have a significant impact on the food industry in the country.
