President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko explained why he congratulated Ukraine on Independence Day on August 24. His words are reported by the daily BelTA.
“I personally have a very good and kind attitude towards Ukrainians. Be it Westerners (Westerners, as they are called). There is nothing bad about them. They are not “Nazis”. “Nazis” are those at the top, starting with those who smoke, snort, drink and then yak from the TV screens. And the people are the good ones. These are our people. Therefore, I deemed it necessary, as always, to congratulate the Ukrainian people,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
Let us remind you that the congratulations of the President of Belarus caused a sharp reaction among the Ukrainian politicians. MP Oleksiy Honcharenko from the Poroshenko faction even threatened to physically assault Lukashenka, for which the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Belarus opened a criminal case against him.
