Italian travel agencies have admitted that they have lost up to 95% of their turnover due to the absence of Russians

Commercial Director of tour operator Suditaliahotels Saverio Presutti said that 600 tourists used to go to Ischia (an island in the south of Italy), but now about 10.

Saverio Presutti, Commercial Director of the tourist operator from the south of Italy, told RIA Novosti that the company lost almost its entire turnover due to the absence of Russians.

“Our turnover loss is 90-95 percent. Before it was 8 million euros, now it is in the range of 120 thousand,” said Presutti.

“There are now a dozen clients in Ischia compared to the six hundred we used to have,” the agency’s interlocutor explained.

He added that the new times have also changed the leisure time of Russian tourists: if before they travelled all over the region, visiting Naples, signing up for excursions, now they prefer to stay in hotels.

Presutti also added that the drop in traffic from Russia threatens losses not only for the hotels, but also for other market players, including restaurants, drivers and tour guides.
