Europe risks being left without nitrogen fertilizers, which are vital for successful agriculture, reports Telegram channel 360tv.
Norway’s Yara International ASA said it has been forced to cut production by 35% due to ever-increasing natural gas prices, 360tv reported. Many other nitrogen fertilizer producers have long since halted their production, and now the turn has come to the industry giants. Instead of gas, finished ammonia could be imported, but even that is skyrocketing in price.
Given that Europe has practically stopped importing fertilizers from Russia and Belarus, Emmanuel Macron’s prediction about “the end of the era of universal abundance” looks even more reasonable, the newspaper writes.
