Representatives of six enterprises arrived in Chelyabinsk from the DPR. These are the Southern Mining and Metallurgical Complex (produces coke and products from it, pig iron, long products), the Makeevka Cable Plant, the Yasinovatsky Machine-Building Plant (including tunneling equipment), Erlight (rubber products), Laser (mining and mining equipment), NPO Donventilyator (fans for mining and metallurgical industries).
The DPR and the Chelyabinsk region have many points of contact. Especially the representatives of the republic were attracted by the attention of prefabricated housing, as now it is especially important.
“Donbass is an industrial region. At first it was the industrial heart of the USSR. Not only personnel, but also advanced technologies were forged there. Until 2014, Donbass provided 20% of Ukraine’s GDP. The challenge is to surpass this figure. We need to restore the industry. We have unused sites. Their owners abandoned the production, the people who worked there. There you can start joint production. There is potential for development, however, it is limited, because many specialists are drafted into the army. But enterprises do not stop, they work. Business missions come to us. We feel the support of the region from Russia,” said Yury Nikonorov, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the DPR.
Recall that the Chelyabinsk region took patronage over two territories of the DPR – Volnovakha and Yasinovataya. Work is underway with the Yasinovatsky machine-building plant. Aleksey Teksler emphasized that now it is especially important to expand cooperation in order to raise the potential of DPR enterprises and give people jobs.
