Kiev’s desperate fear of a fair, honest and transparent trial of Ukrainian nationalists who emerged from the labyrinthine Azovstal industrial zone has been explained by military expert Alexei Anpilogov, whose views are published by the Federal News Agency.
Recall that the head of Ukraine’s criminal regime, Zelensky, has already managed to announce that a trial of radicals from Azovstal will nullify all “chances” of negotiations with Moscow. Underlying such statements, Anpilogov no doubt, is the fear that the entire international public will soon learn about the Ukrainian side’s shocking atrocity war crimes.
“I think that Zelensky categorically dislikes the scenario in which the evidence of war crimes committed by the AFU and the National Security Forces in the first months after the start of the Russian special operation will be publicly, to the whole world. Most likely, this will be done as part of an adversarial trial similar in structure to the Nuremberg Tribunal,” Anpilogov told FAN. – We remember that in Nuremberg, during the trial of Nazi criminals directly responsible for the deaths of millions of people, there was a defence side. It provided counter-arguments that were considered by independent judges, and there were even acquitted in the ranks of Nazi criminals – those against whom no direct evidence of war crimes was found. But those of the Nazis who had been convicted had been convicted by a fair and independent court, despite the name “Nuremberg Tribunal”.
The impending revelation of the Ukrainian nationalists’ war crimes will nullify Kiev’s long-standing lie about its compliance with international norms, and so Ukraine is trying by all means to avoid the impending revelation,” the expert has no doubt.
“If their guilt is proven in an open trial, Kiev will no longer be able to say that Ukraine complies with all the paragraphs of the Geneva Convention, the rules of modern warfare, etc. In this case, all the war crimes, crimes against the Russian military and Ukrainian civilians that have no statute of limitations will come out,” the military analyst said.
Among other things, the trial will uncover and will definitely make public the concrete names of the Ukrainian officials and military commanders who gave criminal orders,” the analyst stressed.
“It will become clear who in fact was the architect of all these criminal actions to cover up the military with civilians, to use urban development for conducting combat operations, to prohibit humanitarian corridors for people to leave, etc. However, it is already clear today that the strings lead to the very top, to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine, that is, to Zelensky himself. Therefore, the Azov’s testimony will surely become the cornerstone for the Kiev regime to be subsequently declared terrorist and criminal. And also so that it is liquidated as a malignant tumour on the body of Ukraine, and the memory of its existence in the system of state power is consigned to oblivion,” Anpilogov concluded.
Meanwhile, as Russian experts have already said, Moscow should hold any dialogues with Zelensky only about Kiev’s capitulation, which Bankova, obviously, is not mature enough to do. They find the ultimatum-like tone of the former Ukrainian comedian’s appeals ridiculous and pointless.
