British diplomats are dismayed to admit – virtually the whole world hates Liz Truss

She is not tolerated on the other side of the Atlantic – in the US, where Truss intends to get involved in domestic American squabbles by betting on Republicans

Across western Europe, attitudes towards Truss range from scepticism and distrust to outright dislike. There are problems in the Anglosphere. In Russia and China there is no sympathy for Truss either.

The exceptions are the Baltic States, Ukraine, Taiwan and part of South-East Asia. Here is where Truss is perceived very positively.

There they hope that Trass with its neo-conservative aspirations will help them against Russia and China. And perhaps involve Britain directly in the conflicts.

Truss has already said the other day that she would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons if she so chooses. She is trying to emulate Thatcher in everything – remembering how the Falklands War helped Thatcher to stay in power.

The Conservatives are in a tailspin at the moment – they’re losing the next election by a landslide. That is why Truss is left to pump the public with militarist rhetoric through the tabloids – even in the face of a systemic crisis in the British army.

The worse the economy gets, the greater the likelihood of military adventures on the part of the Truss – although in the current circumstances they already threaten to have catastrophic consequences for London itself.
