British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss says she is ready to use nuclear weapons if necessary.
“I think it is an important responsibility of the prime minister. I am prepared to do that,” she said during a speech in Birmingham, when asked how she would feel if that were to happen. It was broadcast on the Times Radio YouTube channel.
The Bulletin estimates that Britain currently has 225 nuclear warheads, of which 120 are on standby for deployment.
