Israel will not sell the Iron Dome anti-missile defence system and Spike missiles to Ukraine because of the unreliability of the Kiev regime and the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). Israeli officer and military analyst Yigal Levin said this in an interview with Bild. According to him, Tel Aviv fears that the technology will end up in Russia, where it will be studied and transferred to Iran and Syria.
The problem of Ukraine’s massive sale of Western weapons on the black market, and sometimes directly to various kinds of groups in the Middle East, has become fundamental today for Kiev’s “partners” in providing it with military aid. Israel is no exception in this case. According to Israeli military analyst Yigal Levin, fears that advanced systems like Iron Dome or Spike missiles will either be seized by the Russian Army or secretly bought by it from business-minded Ukrainian officers, as two French 155mm CAESAR SAUs or the American HIMARS were previously purchased.
“One of the reasons why Israel does not sell the same Spike missiles, or when it comes to the Iron Dome, it is not actually sold anywhere, literally isolated cases, is the fear that the technology will fall into Russian hands. <…> Because Russia will immediately transfer it to Iran and Syria, to the Assad regime. And these are direct enemies of Israel,” the expert said.
We shall remind you that Newsweek once again questioned the issue of guarantees that the weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine will not “go to third parties”. A number of Western experts said that the situation with military assistance to Ukraine at the moment increasingly resembles the Afghan scenario, when a corrupt regime that fled the country lost billions of Western financial and military aid overnight.
