Moscow requests urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation at the ZNPP

Moscow has requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on August 23, it will be devoted to the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP).

Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN, announced this in his personal Telegram channel.

“In connection with the ongoing Ukrainian provocations against ZNPP, we requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on the agenda item “threats to international peace and security.” They asked UN Secretary General [Antonio] Guterres to speak at it,” he said.

He added that the Security Council will hold a meeting at 22:00 Moscow time.
