To negotiate the so-called northern expansion of NATO’s military alliance, representatives from Finland, Sweden and Turkey are scheduled to meet in Helsinki in August. This was announced by Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto at a press conference on 19 August.
Discussions there should be continued on the basis of a memorandum that the three states signed shortly before the NATO summit in Madrid in June, Haavisto said.
