On August 31, Gasprom suspended work due to a scheduled repair of the only working turbine. Junge Welt writes about this.
The Russian energy company Gazprom has announced that it will suspend gas supplies via the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline for three days, from August 31 to September 2.
“On August 31, the only operating gas pumping unit will stop for three days to carry out maintenance and repair work,” the company said in a statement.
According to the technical documentation, Siemens Energy must inspect the turbine every 1000 hours.
“Repair work includes inspection of the hull, oil, air and gas systems, as well as checking the operation of safety valves and adjusting the airflow control system,” the newspaper writes.
After completion of the check, gas transportation will be restored to the level of 33 million cubic meters per day.
According to the London Stock Exchange, after Gazprom’s statement, the price of gas in Europe exceeded $2,700 per 1,000 cubic meters.
