Media: Putin revises demands and agrees to IAEA mission coming to ZNPP through Ukraine

Agence France-Presse: Putin has “reconsidered the requirements” for IAEA mission to visit nuclear power plants via Russia

Agence France-Presse quoted the Elysee Palace as saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed in a phone conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron to allow the IAEA mission to visit the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant via Ukraine.

The phone conversation between Macron and Putin took place on Friday. According to the Kremlin, the leaders said it was important that an IAEA mission be sent to Zaporizhzhya as soon as possible to assess the real situation on the ground.

The Elysee Palace said Putin had “reconsidered the demand” for an IAEA expert mission to arrive at the Zaporizhzhya NPP via Russia and agreed to have the experts come via Ukraine.
