Estonia to propose to European Commission an eighth package of sanctions against Russia

Estonia will propose to the European Commission to introduce the eighth package of sanctions against Russia, said the country’s Foreign Ministry.

According to the Estonian Foreign Ministry, Tallinn wants the package to include expanded sanctions in the energy and trade sectors, as well as to include additional individuals and organizations in the restrictions. In addition, Estonia proposes to extend the sanctions to travel to Europe by Russians, RIA Novosti reported.

On August 18, Estonia stopped allowing Russians with Schengen visas issued by Estonian consular services. However, Russians can still enter the republic if they have a Schengen visa issued by another country.
