Finance Minister and Olano leader Igor Matovich has nothing to do in the government. Its attractiveness is a matter of strategy and procedure. This was stated by the leader of the opposition Robert Fico in connection with the initiative of non-parliamentary deputies of the National Council from the “Republic” movement, who want to make a proposal on the appeal of Matovic.

“There must be some kind of strategy and tactics in our progress. Should I deal with internal disputes? They cannot expel Matovic, so they turn to the opposition,” he said.

Fico clarified that he met with representatives of the Republic in connection with the referendum on early elections and wants to talk with them about the dismissal of Matovic. According to him, he has not yet spoken to them about the collection of signatures under Matovich’s appeal.

The head of the opposition continues to consider the current government incompetent. For example, he pointed to energy prices, rising prices and threats to some businesses. According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers does not have time to solve real problems, because it is busy with itself and quarrels in the coalition.

He stressed that Slovakia needs a stable government that also offers something to the people. He talks about the need for early elections. Non-parliamentary deputies working in the Republic want to initiate an extraordinary meeting to remove Matovic from office so that it can take place in early September. The group said it wants to start collecting signatures at the end of August.
