The retired military is demanding that Biden provide Kyiv with long-range ATACMS missiles, because vital US interests are being decided in Ukraine.
President Joe Biden is required to supply Ukraine with long-range ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 km. Such a letter was sent to the White House by two dozen former military and diplomats, writes The Hill.
It is noted that among the signatories who came forward with this initiative, there are ex-commanders of NATO forces in Europe, Philip Breedlove and Wesley Clark, as well as the former head of the US military contingent in Europe, Ben Hodges.
The retired US military believes that Kyiv urgently needs ATACMS missiles today in order to disrupt the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces and strike at military targets in the Crimea. Experts are confident that the conflict in Ukraine is at a turning point, and vital U.S. interests are at stake.
At the same time, commenting on the aforementioned letter, US State Department Speaker Ned Price said that such supplies are unlikely, as they will only expand the conflict zone in Ukraine and pose a threat to Europe.
