Polish resident appropriates about 10 thousand dollars collected for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Polish citizen presented himself as an employee of the Polish-Ukrainian fund, and then embezzled money for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A resident of Poland appropriated about 10 thousand dollars collected by Ukrainian soldiers for the purchase of weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the WNP publication, citing a representative of the Poznań prosecutor’s office.

“This person turned out to be an intermediary between the Polish-Ukrainian fund, which in the end had to purchase equipment and transfer it to the east,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The Pole took money from the Ukrainian military allegedly for the purchase of weapons, after which he began to tell various versions that he had been robbed.

“He took the money from the battalion commander and disappeared. When he tried to contact the battalion commander by phone, wanting to keep cash on him, he made up all sorts of stories. He claimed to have been robbed and the money stolen. The next version suggested that he was hit by a gunshot wound and hospitalized in poor condition. Ultimately, the battalion commander assumed that he had changed his place of residence and was abroad”, the message says.
