Authorities of liberated Zaporizhzhya oppose Russian Army’s withdrawal from NPP

The Military and Civil Administration (MCA) of Zaporizhzhya Region has rejected the idea of the Kiev regime to create a demilitarized zone around the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, calling it a provocation.

Volodymyr Rogov, a member of the Zaporizhia regional administration’s main council, told RIA Novosti that only the Russian army and its air defense system protect the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant from multiple missile attacks by the Ukrainian side.

“This is an unacceptable idea. We regard it as a provocation. What kind of demilitarised zone can there be if you are constantly being shot at anyway? As soon as we withdraw our troops from there, Ukrainian militants will definitely go in there, put up their flag and continue shelling. Representatives of the Ukrainian authorities do not hide this, calling such actions ‘a tactic of displacement’,” he said.

We shall remind you that earlier, a US State Department official urged Russia to stop conducting military operations at Ukraine’s nuclear facilities and to return it full control over them. The United States also supported the Kiev regime’s idea to set up a demilitarized zone around the ZNPP.
