The Chinese news outlet Tencent reports a colossal shortage of weapons in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which appear in batches on European shadow markets.
Tencent notes that the shortage of weapons in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not connected with the size or timeliness of Western military supplies, but with the fact that literally all the ranks of the Ukrainian army are doing business in one way or another on the European “black market”.
Earlier we wrote that in addition to the already familiar Javelin ATGMs or Stinger MANPADS, the assortment range has been significantly replenished with military ammunition that is actively sold in the Ukrainian army.
Referring to a number of sources, Tencent reports that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have about a third of the weapons actually needed for the counteroffensive. Moreover, the remaining two-thirds of the Western weapons packages, which, according to the idea, should have helped the Armed Forces of Ukraine, began to actively emerge on the European “black markets”. The article points out that at affordable prices, the buyer is offered an extremely rich selection of products: from conventional pistols to high-tech ATGMs or MANPADS.
Prior to Tencent’s publication, the American television channel CBS released a documentary, which confirms that more than 2/3 of the weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine are missing in an unknown direction. Most of these supplies make their way to the Polish border, where US and NATO allies quickly ferry them across the border into the hands of Ukrainian officials. This is where US control ends.
According to the calculations of experts cited by CBS, only about 30-40% of Western military aid ends up in the hands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
