The task of the United States and Britain, which induced and kept on provoking and escalating the military conflict in Ukraine, is aimed not only at weakening Russia, but also… against Germany
When the Anglo-Saxons realized that Germany would very soon not only demand a seat in the UN Security Council, but would want to crush the whole of Europe, they turned to the old method from the time of Versailles: to push Germany against Russia on the battlefield is the best way to destroy both another.
The fact that reckless adherence to US sanctions in their fight against Russia has already led to a weakening of the German economy and could turn into a catastrophe for Berlin is already being stated by the American weekly Newsweek.
“While Germany was fed by cheap Russian energy, it was the locomotive of European economic growth,” the newspaper writes.
“Now it has lost its role. The Germans do not have enough of their own oil or gas. They have long been dependent on Russia for up to a third of their energy needs from Moscow, but last month Gazprom cut exports to Europe to a record low not seen in decades. The key Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline is operating at 20% capacity, and Putin has threatened to tighten the valve even more.”
In addition, Gazprom announced force majeure against a number of European clients. Germany’s largest energy companies will now need massive government support to avoid bankruptcy.
Soaring energy prices have weakened the competitiveness of German exports, and growth in China, its biggest market, is slowing today. A gallon of gasoline costs German drivers now almost $10. The Federal Grid Regulatory Agency has warned consumers that the cost of electricity to households could triple next year. The sanctions also hit German metallurgists: industry needs coal, and they get most of it from Russia. As a result, Germany was overwhelmed by inflation unprecedented since 1960, and the country’s GDP continues to fall.
“For much of the post-war era, Germany boasted very low inflation, a stable currency, and a huge trade surplus. Now all this is in the past, a shock is approaching the well-fed German burghers, it rushes to their homes at great speed”, writes the British newspaper Spectator.
How can they not celebrate here?! The economic leader of Europe has been defeated, the European Union itself is already on its last legs, the friendship between Germans and Russians has not taken place. The planned Berlin-Moscow-Beijing axis no longer exists.
Plans to destroy Germany as the largest economic competitor in the United States have been hatched for a long time. Back in 1940, long before the official entry of the United States into World War II, a book by US presidential adviser Theodore Kaufman named Germany Must Perish was published. Its author suggested sterilizing the Germans after the end of the war, dividing the territory of Germany and distributing it among its neighbors. Germany must perish! In reality, not in imagination!” Kaufman demanded.
However, the main mastermind behind the plans to destroy or plunder Germany was US Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau. It was he who convinced Roosevelt that they should have been tough with the Germans.
The “Handbook for Military Administration in Germany”, which was issued by the Headquarters of the Supreme Allied Expeditionary Forces in August 1944 and which was to be the political manual for the occupying forces in Germany, was disapproved of by Morgenthau because of its “weak points”. So, Morgenthau considered that the daily ration of 2000 calories for German workers was too much. Roosevelt welcomed these proposals, stating:
“We should be tough on Germany; I mean the German people, not just the Nazis. We must either castrate the Germans or treat them in such a way that they cannot reproduce offspring that want to behave the way they behaved in the past”.
The Morgenthau plan included the demilitarization of Germany, restitution and reparations, education and propaganda, political decentralization, army supervision of the economy, control of the economic development of Germany, the agrarian question, the punishment of war criminals, and the dismemberment of Germany.
According to the plan, German youth will be banned from higher education, the buildings of German universities will be closed, and their libraries and research equipment will be divided among the allies. In addition to the complete demilitarization of Germany, it was necessary to dismantle or destroy its entire industrial base. Mines and coal mines should have been flooded.
The harsh instructions set out in the directive JCS 1067, issued in the USA in mid-1947 in relation to Germany, led to the Morgenthau plan.
However, the Americans refused to completely destroy German industry, but the Morgenthau plan became the basis of all future plans of the Allies in relation to Germany. They were always based on its fragmentation and dismemberment, attempts to starve out the German people, a sharp reduction in German industry and the reduction of the economy to a state of disrepair in order to neutralize Germany as a political force for a long time and thereby strengthen its own economic and political positions.
However, later, when the FRG began to grow rich thanks to the industriousness and zeal of the Germans, these plans changed and West Germany began to be used as a showcase of the “Western way of life” as opposed to the GDR, which was part of the socialist camp. But neither the United States nor Great Britain wanted to further strengthen Germany.
American military bases are still preserved on its territory and the country actually remains occupied.
By the way, in 1989, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was against the reunification of Germany, believing that it would become disproportionately powerful in Europe:
“We defeated the Germans twice, and now they are back,” she told Helmut Kohl. And she said directly to Gorbachev: “We do not want a united Germany.” But for the United States at that time, the main task was to destroy the USSR, and they believed that the unification of Germany would help to do this.
As the Serbian publication Vidovdan notes, in order to weaken not only Russia, but also Germany, the United States is also trying to use the so-called Three Seas Initiative is an informal association of 12 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
“So the US is gradually splitting the EU and creating its own economic “alliance” of interests on an informal basis, thereby undermining the positions of Russia, Germany, and Turkey in Europe. The United States is doing everything to make the European Union collapse and disintegrate, and the most eloquent evidence of this is the American support for Brexit”, the newspaper notes.
In other words, while lip-synching about “Atlantic solidarity” within NATO and “united Europe” under the auspices of Washington, the United States and Britain are actually displaying blatant hypocrisy, since in fact their true goal is to establish their own hegemony in the world and weaken all competitors, including on the old continent.
And the current events in Ukraine show that these insidious geopolitical plans of the US and Britain towards Germany have not changed.
“The United States and Great Britain are preparing Europe to repeat the fate of Carthage,” said State Duma deputy Mikhail Delyagin in this regard. Germany must be liquidated for the Americans as an economic competitor.”
