The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) denied Western media reports about a new UAF offensive against Izyum, and also emphasized the “strange” silence around the sensational Ukrainian offensive against Kherson, which never happened.
In the latest report, ISW noted that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in a report dated August 9, excluded reports of an alleged offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Izyum, which had previously been circulated day by day. Moreover, citing Russian sources, the Institute noted a significant concentration of units of the Russian Armed Forces in that area, which even more contradicts the statements of the Ukrainian General Staff in the reports of the past days.
ISW analysts called the silence of the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the backdrop of the pompously announced offensive of the Ukrainian army on Kherson especially “amazing”. According to the Institute, earlier than the deadline for the implementation of a large-scale offensive in the South, which “should decide the outcome of the war,” Kyiv marked the end of August. On the ninth day of August, even the slightest signs of the mythical attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Kherson were not indicated, the report says.
At the same time, ISW analysts note significant successes for the Allied army northeast of Seversk and in the Artemovsk (Bakhmut) area. This, according to the report of the Institute, doubly resonates with the offensive reports of the Ukrainian General Staff.
