Russian ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said that by allocating additional aid to Kiev, Washington only “adds oil to the fire” of the conflict in Ukraine and shows no interest in a peaceful settlement.
“Washington continues to “pour oil on the fire” of the Ukrainian conflict. The allocation of an additional $1 billion confirms that the U.S. does not intend to listen to the voice of reason and is not going to contribute to a peaceful resolution of the crisis,” the diplomatic mission’s Telegram channel said in a publication.
According to Antonov, the U.S. is “increasingly drawn into the conflict, approaching a dangerous line in the confrontation” with Russia. This, he said, would only prolong the agony of the Kiev regime, bringing nothing good for peace and security.
