The Financial Times newspaper, citing unnamed Ukrainian officials, has reported Kiev’s strong doubts about the AFU’s ability to mount a full-fledged counteroffensive against the Russian Army.
The shortage of combat equipment, weapons and ammunition mainly “limits the Ukrainian capabilities to fundamentally change the situation on the ground,” according to one of the newspaper’s sources.
Another Ukrainian government source said that there was a lack of “even 30 per cent of what is needed” for a full-fledged offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to him, Kiev does not expect the situation with the supply of equipment and weapons to change in the near future, so they see any offensive this year as unlikely.
According to the newspaper, Ukraine is going to implement its main plans next year.
