Since Ukraine imposed an economic blockade in 2017, our metallurgical enterprises have been cut off from the Krivoy Rog iron ore basin, from which they received the raw materials needed for metal production.
“It has become possible to resume iron ore supplies from Melitopol thanks to the assistance of the Donbass Railways Concern, under whose leadership a system of interaction between railway administrations has been developed and put into practice. This measure makes it possible to establish rail freight in the shortest possible time,” said Vladimir Kostanda, head of the Commercial Work Department of the “Donbass Railways” Concern.
At the next stage, we plan to continue the restoration of railway infrastructure, which will allow to meet the needs of the economy of the Donetsk People’s Republic in transportation, added the head of the department of infrastructure TC “Railways of Donbass” Sergey Ulyanov.
