Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Phnom Penh, where he will take part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers under the auspices of Russia – the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Russia – East Asia Summit (EAS) and Russia – ASEAN Regional Forum on Security (ARF).
“The focus will be on strengthening our country’s position in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR), promoting Russian approaches to the formation of an equal and inclusive security architecture against the backdrop of growing geopolitical turbulence,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In addition to collective meetings at the level of foreign ministers, Sergey Lavrov is scheduled to have several official bilateral conversations.
