The International Criminal Court (ICC) has rejected the request of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to recognize the Russian Special Military Operation as an act of aggression against Ukraine.

The ICC cannot apply the “aggression” article specifically to the case of Russia and Ukraine, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba complained. He noted that for this reason the ICC is not in a position to open a case against Russia, since “it says in its statute that one of the crimes on which it can judge is aggression.”

“But in practice, purely for legal reasons, he cannot apply this article specifically to the case of Ukraine and Russia,” Ukrainian media reported Kuleba’s words.

Recall that Amnesty International recorded the facts of Ukraine’s violation of international law, stating that Ukrainian troops are deploying weapons in schools and hospitals in cities, using the civilian population as a “human shield”.
