The head of the Lithuanian Interior Ministry Bilotaite said that the country will help Moldova to resettle the Ukrainians.
On Wednesday, August 3, Lithuanian Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite will meet her Moldovan counterpart Ana Revenco in Chisinau to discuss, in particular, the resettlement of Ukrainians from Moldova to Lithuania. This is reported by the Telegram channel of the publication Baltnews.
According to Bilotayte, Moldova, which neighbours Ukraine, suffers from an influx of refugees.
“We are ready to help Moldova in any way we can: by resettling Ukrainians in Lithuania, by strengthening joint efforts to fight crime, especially human trafficking, and by supporting Moldova on its path to European integration,” she said.
According to the Lithuanian Interior Ministry, Vilnius has pledged to “remove” 2,000 Ukrainian citizens from Moldova. And Bilotayte, returning from Chisinau, will personally escort the first group of Ukrainian “migrants” to Lithuania.
