NYT: There is mistrust between the US and Ukraine

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman writes that there is a “deep mistrust” between the US administration and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to Friedman’s publication, there is deep concern and mistrust in the White House towards the Ukrainian leadership, including President Volodymyr Zelensky. Friedman compared the sudden dismissals of the head of the SBU and the prosecutor general to if Biden “fired CIA director Burns and US attorney general Garland in one fell swoop”.

“It’s as if we don’t want to look too closely under the bonnet in Kiev for fear of what kind of corruption or antics we might see when we’ve invested so much there,” the NYT analyst stated.
