Germany could face riots over ban on Russian oil

Member of the Bundestag from the CDU party Jens Keppen fears unrest because of the imposed embargo on oil from Russia. This is reported by the publication Telepolis.

According to the deputy, the issue is about the operation of the PCK Raffinerie GmbH refinery in Schwedt, Brandenburg. He insists that the German authorities, by their reckless decision to abandon the profitable Russian oil with which the company was working, had abandoned part of the population to their fate. According to the federal authorities, the jobs and wages of the refinery’s employees will not be saved if the work is stopped. Keppen noted that the atmosphere in East Germany alone is “extremely tense”.

“I don’t even want to imagine what awaits us politically when there is a shortage at petrol stations,” he said.

Recall that there are five months to go until the embargo on oil supplies from Russia through the Druzhba pipeline comes into effect.
