The National Bank of Ukraine has banned exchange offices from displaying a board with the exchange rate.
The National Bank of Ukraine has banned exchange offices from displaying displays or otherwise informing citizens about the current exchange rate outside the cash desks of exchange offices, the regulator said.
“This information will be placed exclusively at the cash desks of institutions and their structural divisions. At the same time, non-bank financial institutions and postal operators are prohibited from informing about the established exchange rates for buying and selling foreign currencies outside the cash desks of institutions and their structural divisions, drawing additional unnecessary attention to them with any digital values or symbols”, the National Bank website says.
Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine devalued the national currency by raising the official dollar rate by 25% at once, as a result of which the exchange rate in exchange offices exceeded 40 hryvnia per dollar.
