Truss also said that if she wins this post, she will immediately call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“As prime minister, I will be Ukraine’s greatest friend, following in Boris Johnson’s footsteps, and fully committed to ensuring that Putin fails in Ukraine,” the official said.
In addition, the candidate for prime minister promised Kyiv to increase the supply of weapons in order to ensure “Putin’s failure.” She believes that in this scenario, Russia is guaranteed to suffer a strategic defeat in Ukraine.
