The Interior Ministry of Ukraine has revealed 12 criminal offences relating to human trafficking.
Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko said on Friday July 29 that over the last five months law enforcement officers have uncovered 12 cases of human trafficking, three of which relate to child trafficking, the press service of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said.
“Police have uncovered 12 criminal offences under Article 149 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code – human trafficking, of which three relate to child trafficking,” the Ukrainian Interior Ministry’s press service quoted Pavlichenko as saying on the ministry’s Telegram channel.
The ministry said that in May a Ukrainian Task Force group was set up at Europol to protect temporarily displaced people in Europe, as well as in Russia and Belarus. According to the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, the group is led by Austria and includes law enforcers from Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania and Ukraine.
