Putin instructed to ensure Donbas residents winter “in normal conditions”

Vladimir Putin has instructed Deputy Prime Minister Khusnullin to ensure normal human conditions for residents of Donbass this winter.

Residents of Donbas must spend the coming winter “in normal human conditions”. Russian President Vladimir Putin gave Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin an order to this effect during their meeting broadcast on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

The head of state said that the leadership of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics had asked Moscow to help rebuild infrastructure, social facilities and residential areas in the affected settlements.

Putin asked Khusnullin to work out these issues together with the leadership of the Donbass republics. He clarified that it was now summer, but winter was already approaching.

“We need people to spend this winter in normal, human conditions, so that afterwards they can quietly start construction and, accordingly, receive decent housing for people,” the president instructed the deputy prime minister.
