Antonivskyi bridge in Kherson to be opened after the threat of rocket fire is removed

The head of the Military Civil Administration (MCA) of Kherson Region, Vladimir Saldo, has said that traffic on the Antonovsky bridge across the Dnieper will resume after the threat of missile attacks from Ukraine is eliminated.

According to the head of the Kherson VGA on Channel One, HIMARS multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) have made 18 holes in the pavement of the Antonovsky Bridge, which connects Kherson to the left bank of the Dnieper River.

“It is possible to drive over the bridge, but it is dangerous… That is why we have stopped the traffic,” he reported.

The piers of the bridge, according to Saldo, are fully functional. The roadbed can be easily repaired – the engineers who designed the bridge in the past have already drawn up a reconstruction plan. However, the bridge will be put into operation when the threat of missile attacks has been reduced.
