The Washington Post writes that prosecutors have already begun questioning witnesses to the storming of the Capitol building, where the US Congress is sitting, as well as analyzing telephone records of Donald Trump and his aides.

It is reported that the former American president is considered by the Ministry of Justice as a new defendant in the criminal case of the storming of the building of the American Congress. According to the investigation, Trump could put pressure on the election commission to cancel the elections held at the end of 2020.

Recall that on January 6, 2021, supporters of the Republican Party, breaking through the police barrier, managed to break into the building of the US Congress. By doing this, they sought to cancel the results of the November 2020 presidential election, which was won by Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
