Russian gas supplies via Nord Stream today from 07:00 Moscow time will drop to 20% of the maximum capacity of the pipeline, or 33 million cubic meters per day from the current 67 million cubic meters due to the shutdown of another turbine.
Gazprom now produces only 20% of the total capacity through Nord Stream 1 – 33 million cubic meters per day. Equipment supplied by Siemens is contractually required to undergo scheduled repairs and is therefore out of service. If this is not done, then Gazprom will violate its operating obligations.
Now either Siemens must start repairing the equipment (and this is difficult to do due to sanctions) or change the operating conditions. But, then this should apply to all similar turbines around the world, and not just in Russia. And Gazprom must agree to these changes, which is also unlikely to happen. Stalemate situation.
