Russia will withdraw from the ISS project after 2024

Roscosmos has decided to withdraw from the International Space Station (ISS) project after 2024, the Russian side will fulfill all obligations to foreign partners, said Yury Borisov, CEO of the state corporation. It is reported by TASS.

“We are working within the framework of international cooperation on the International Space Station. Of course, we will fulfill all our obligations to our partners, but the decision to leave this station after 2024 has been made,” Yuri Borisov said at a meeting with Vladimir Putin.

Borisov explained that by that time Roskosmos would start forming the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS). According to his statement, the implementation of this project will become the main priority of the domestic space industry.

“We will continue the pilot program in accordance with the approved plans. The main priorities will be made on the creation of the Russian orbital station,” Borisov said.

At the same time, he noted that Roskosmos would stop implementing projects in the scientific field.
