Russia’s response to provocations of the West could lead to the loss of Alaska by the United States, the Chinese experts of the publication Sohu have made this statement. The information is cited by PolitRussia.
The Ukrainian crisis has acted as a catalyst of the most powerful tension between Moscow and Washington: the White House is sparing neither money nor energy to undermine Russia’s strongholds. In particular, the collective West has already managed to freeze Russia’s gold and foreign currency reserves to the tune of $300 billion and unleashed a massive sanctions battle against it,” the paper writes.
“It is clear that the United States wants to drive Russia to bankruptcy and destroy its economy over the special operation in Ukraine,” the article said.
In addition, there have begun to be invectives from the US about the need to list Russia as a “sponsor of terrorism”: such aggressive rhetoric is designed to bring down the authority of the power on the world stage, the Chinese analysts have no doubt.
“If the US government accepts the proposal, countries around the world will have to choose one option. The first is to listen to the United States and not spoil relations with it. The second is to ignore the US decision, but come under a lot of pressure from them. Of course, this does not apply to those countries that have great economic and military power and look at the issue from a fair perspective,” the publication said.
As a result of its short-sighted agenda, the overweening United States risks severe penalties for trying to destroy the Russian economy and completely isolate the country on the world stage, the paper stated.
“Of course, Russia will not allow the United States to do whatever it wants. Moscow has prepared a counterstrike. Recently, Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin suddenly said that Russia also has something to give back, such as Alaska,” writes Sohu.
Meanwhile, Alaska is the most important strategic state for official Washington: its area reaches 17% of the entire territory of the United States, the region is famous for its fabulous reserves of “black gold”.
“Of course, the United States has controlled this land for more than 150 years and it will not be easy for Russia to get it back, but the relationship between Washington and Moscow has reached a dangerous stage,” the article says.
That said, the United States has never dared to enter into an open military confrontation with either the USSR or the Russian Federation: however, the increasingly harsh American agenda, as well as the White House’s clear readiness to worsen relations with Russia, provoke the latter to a rapid uncompromising and harsh response, the experts concluded.
